Shanghai Dewei Paint Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dewei Paint Group, plans to invest a total of 300 million yuan to build a water-based automotive coating project with an annual output of 14,000 tons. The project will add water-based automotive coating production.

The products include water-based color paste, water-based primer, and water-based color paint. After completion, the annual output value will be approximately 650 million yuan, and the annual output value of the entire plant will be approximately 880 million yuan.

Public information shows that Shanghai Dewei Coating Technology Co., Ltd. was formerly named Chuangxing Fine Chemicals (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. and was renamed Shanghai Dewei Coating Technology Co., Ltd. in April 2023. The company was established in April 2007, with its registered address at No. 1269 Linxian Road, Jinshan Industrial Zone, Shanghai. It is mainly engaged in the manufacturing and sales of coatings, the production and sales of chemical products, the manufacturing and sales of synthetic materials, and the sales of special chemical products. Currently, the company has an annual output of 2,600 tons of coatings, including 2,400 tons of UV coatings and 400 tons of traditional thermosetting coatings.

Its products are used in containers, wind power, automobiles, engineering machinery, port machinery, shipbuilding and offshore engineering, heavy vehicles, equipment manufacturing, construction steel structures and other fields. Currently, Dewei Paint has production bases in Tianjin, Qidong, Jiangsu, Linyi, Shandong, and Jinshan, Shanghai, with a planned coating production capacity of over 400,000 tons. At present, Dewei Paint has deployed three major automotive coating production bases. Among them, the Qidong factory in Jiangsu is expanding a new factory covering an area of about 60 acres. The construction content includes a 10,000-ton automotive coating production workshop and a 20,000-ton water-based resin production workshop and supporting warehousing and office and living facilities; it has invested approximately 350 million yuan in Shanghai Jinshan to build an annual output 15,000 tons of high-performance powder coatings, 2,500 tons of automotive water-based coatings and other projects; it plans to invest 500 million yuan in a new production and R&D base project in Zhuzhou, Hunan, to develop top-notch new energy automotive industrial coatings.

It is expected to achieve annual sales revenue of 1 billion yuan after reaching production.Tujie reporters noticed that Dewei Paint Group has previously formulated a 5-10-year development strategic plan. In terms of automotive coatings, it plans to invest hundreds of millions of yuan to establish Shanghai Dewei Coatings Co., Ltd., focusing on the research and development of automotive coatings and core basic materials. It will equip experimental inspection instruments and industry-leading technical talents in accordance with top international standards. It will establish domestic top-level automotive coatings and core new material R&D laboratories, and plans to achieve a sales target of 1.5 billion to 2 billion yuan in the next 5-10 years.
